Share of TV channels and TOP programmes, Year 2010

Riga, January 7, 2011 - TNS Latvia, market, social and media research agency owned by one of the world’s leading market information groups - TNS, has summarised the TV channel audiences for the year 2010 (01/01/2010 – 31/12/2010).

LNT was the most watched TV channel in 2010: TV audiences have wathched this channel 14 % of the total TV watching time. The second most watched TV channel  was TV3 with 13.5 %. Channel PBK with 10.1 %  and LTV1 with 8.8 % rank as the third and the forth most watched TV channels.

Next was channel LTV7: TV spectators more than 4 years old have watched this channel 4.8 % of the total TV watching time. Channel RTR Planeta Baltija was watched 4.7 % of the time, channel TV5 Rīga - 4.4 % of the time, but channel 3+ - 3.6 % and channel REN Baltija - 2.4 % of the time. TV spectators more than 4 years old have watched channel TV6 2 % of the total TV watching time, and channel PBMK - 0.5 % and channel OE - 0.1 % of the time.

In 2010, TV audiences have watched all the other TV channels 28.3  % of the time, but Video and DVD 2.6 % of the total TV watching time.

The average time spent by one TV spectator in front of his/her TV set, compared to the previous year, has decreased by 1 minute, and was 5 hours and 10 minutes per day in 2010.


Share     % - the percentage of the total viewing audience achieved by a specific broadcast vehicle within a predefined time period – how many percent of the people watching TV at a particular point in time have been turned to the TV channel, program or clip.
