TNS Gallup: TOP 5 dailies, weeklies and monthlies by readership, Winter 2007

Vilnius (Lithuania), March 30, 2007 - According to the most recent National Readership Survey data carried out by TNS Gallup, the top 3 dailies by readership remain “Vakaro žinios” - 22 % (or 578 thousand), “Lietuvos rytas”  - 18.6 % (or 488 thousand) and free daily “15 minučių” (16.4 % or 430 thousand). At the forth position of top 5 dailies by cover is “Respublika” (8.2 % or 214 thousand). At the fifth position is daily “Kauno diena” (6.1 % or 162 thousand).

As it was during in autumn period, TV guides remain the most read among weeklies (editions that are published 1-3 times a week). At the first position by cover ranks “TV Antena”  (19.1 % or 502 thousand), at the second –  “TV Publika” (17 % or 445 thousand).  At the third position of top 5 weeklies by cover remains weekly magazine “Žmonės”.  14.3 % or 376 thousand of Lithuanian residents aged 15-74 answered they had read averagely one issue of this edition.  At the forth position by cover - “Stilius” (9 % or 235 thousand), at the fifth weekly “Laisvalaikis” (7,8 % or 205 thousand).

The most read monthlies remain women magazines.  At the first position of top 5 monthlies by cover is monthly magazine “Panelė”. 8,1 % or 211 thousand of Lithuanian residents aged 15-74 answered they had read averagely one issue of this edition. At the second position - “Laima” (6.2 % or 163 thousand), at the third – “Ekstra panelė” (4.6 % or 121 thousand), at the forth – “Cosmopolitan (Lith.)” (4.3 % or 113 thousand), at the fifth - “Moteris” (4,3 % or 112 thousand).

The fieldwork was carried out using the method of personal interviews (CAPI).
Survey period: 04.12.2006 - 25.02.2007
1479 permanent residents of Lithuania aged 15-74 were interviewed. Estimated statistical sampling error of the data presented is within 2  %.

Terms:

Cover (  % or ‘000) – percent or average number of people who have read or looked over one issue of edition.
Cover maximum (  % or ‘000) – percent or total number of people who had chance to read or look over one issue of edition.
