There are 730 000 internet users in Estonia

Tallin (Estonia), December 7, 2006 - According to TNS Emor e-track survey 60 % or 730 000 Estonian inhabitants aged 6-74 are using the internet.

Compared to last year's autumn, the number of internet users has increased by approximately 35 000 people. Every third Estonian inhabitant aged 6-74 uses the internet daily.

Most of the internet users are using the internet at home. In Estonia 243 000 families have Internet access also at home and their number is continuously increasing. Last year the number of families with the internet connection at home was 56 000 smaller.

Based on survey data, e-shopping is becoming more and more popular. Every ten or approximately 109 000 Estonian inhabitants aged 15-74 have purchased goods on the Internet. People are mostly buying clothes and books on the internet and ordering newspapers and magazines.

The basis for this data is TNS Emor, the largest full service marketing research and consulting company in Estonia, e-Track survey, the survey period was September - November 2006. TNS Emor interviewed 1861 residents of Estonia aged 6-74.
